There’s a couple of things that I really like about the service DTS provides. One is their quick response time and the other is their knowledge and expertise. These give me the comfort of being able to sleep at night knowing that DTS has our back.
An example of this is recently I emailed DTS support about an issue we were having with our Internet access and Dan emailed me back immediately with a few things for us to try out. This has been very typical of our experience with DTS.

DTS set-up our first server network 8 years ago (in computer land this is forever). In 2014 the time had come to upgrade and the thought made us panic for fear of the complications and interruptions to our business. Our leadership staff had different concerns and opinions. DTS provided meetings to educate and relax our many concerns and opinions before we made the big “SWITCH”.
The “SWITCH” included all new systems and a conversion to the cloud services. Although Dan Neuwirth was present in our office for a week our only interruption to business lasted a few hours. The “SWITCH” has been no big deal, and we are happy to be a part of the latest and greatest. From time to time we have had a glitch or two but all hiccups are fixed and handled in a timely manner.
Through the years our company has benefited by having a reliable, trust worthy computer system. Bottom line…….. We can come to work and get work done.
It has been a few months with our new system in place and today Dan came by the office to help me clean-out my computer cabinet. Truly amazing……..Dan was on the ground going through several years of software CD’s, wires and knickknacks that had collected in our computer cabinet. I was terrified to take on the chore myself not knowing what to keep for our new system or what to get rid of. Dan took special time to help with every little item and it was so very helpful.

DTS Info Tech provided us with the ability to look beyond what we had been doing and show us how we could do things better, more efficiently and less expensively. We had been with another service provider for over 10-years, so making the change was not an easy decision and did not come lightly. However, after meeting with DTS it was clear they had a new and refreshing approach to I.T. We are very pleased that we listened to a friend’s recommendation to “at least talk” with DTS.
After the evaluation of our system, DTS showed us many areas of software that were not working as we thought they were, hardware that was not functional and/or needed replacement and a host of other things that ultimately were costing us dollars every month. The evaluation from DTS was written out in detail and broken into immediate needs, should be done and future considerations. We had the opportunity to put a Band-Aid on the system, like we had been doing for the past several years, or fix it for the future and have the peace of mind our business would not be affected in the future, as it had been in the past with computer down time.
Ultimately we moved to the “Cloud” and moved away from having our own in-house server hosting everything. It was a very scary thing to have our information in the “Cloud” but DTS walked us through the pros and cons of it, explained every detail and gave us the confidence that this was the right thing for our business. Not having all the hardware was like going through withdrawals because we had always had lots of expensive hardware. But now it is such a great feeling to not worry about when the next upgrade is due or what hardware is outdated and needs replacing.
A few months after our conversion to the “Cloud” for our Real Estate Company we used DTS to help us at one of our other businesses to upgrade all the work stations, move some activities to the “Cloud” and reconfigure a server. Bottom line is we were so pleased with their work at The Cox Group we took them over to our retail operation and enlisted their services.
The month after month of care free computer service is wonderful. We are a retail/pet services company who relies heavily on our computer system for everything from inventory to daily reservations and appointments. Down time is not an option. Before we met with DTS, we were literally limping along. Upon their evaluation, we found that our in house server was not backing up as we thought it was, and the network configuration was cumbersome and ineffective.
DTS gave us a written report that explained what we had and how it could be better. He also gave us three timeline/cost scenarios. The best thing about the report - we could actually understand what DTS was saying. DTS Dan is a total tech geek (and I say this with great affection), yet he is fantastic in explaining the techy issues in layman terms.
Long story short, DTS set up 5 computers and repurposed our server to hold our POS system and took us to the Cloud—He was at our business for 2 days and our total down time was. . .drumroll please. . .1.5 hours.
As with any computer conversion, there will be hiccups the day after the tech guy leaves. DTS responded immediately to make the corrections. Also, DTS provided us with a complete summary of all the computer network information i.e. user name, passwords, tech info, etc.

The very first time DTS InfoTech visited with me at my office they told me my data backups were not working and proved it to me by showing me the log records on my server. This came as a shock to me because I had just talked with my IT guy a few days before that and he didn’t mention a word about that.
Having good data backups is critical to my business, so I told them I needed to get my data backed up immediately if that was at all possible. They explained what options were available to me, and after deciding what I wanted to do they started backing up my data within minutes using their cloud service. I was impressed because it seemed so fast and easy. My old IT company was not like that. When I would call them, I had to leave a message and then wait for them to call me back.
With DTS InfoTech, those days are over. They’re always available and providing me with almost immediate response. Sometimes it’s better than that, because I’ll come to work in the morning and get a voice mail from them to say that they had fixed a problem I didn’t even know we had. Our computer network was starting to give us problems from time to time. And it finally got to the point where we just needed to fix it and resolve the problems so we hired DTS InfoTech. That was back at the end of 2011 and we’ve been using them ever since.

When DTS came to our office for their first visit it was apparent right from the start of our conversation that they knew what they were talking about. I was impressed with their knowledge about computers and computer networks; you kind of expect that. But it wasn’t just computers and geek stuff that impressed me. They stressed the importance of configuring our computers and network properly to save us time and money.
After our initial conversation we logged them into our server and workstations so they could evaluate the current health of our entire network. They made a lot of notes and asked us questions about our business, our data and how we were backing it up and the software we’re using. Then after the evaluation was finished we made an appointment for them to come back a week later so they could submit a written Network Evaluation and Proposal.
The Network Evaluation exposed areas of vulnerability I didn’t know we had. Because computers are not my area of expertise I expected to hear things I didn’t know about. That’s why we asked them to come over. But honestly, what they shared with me about our network was sobering. We were operating, but it wasn’t right.
One benefit of doing business with DTS is that their plan to configure our network and get it operating correctly was a three phase approach that fit our budget. It was workable because we didn’t have to do everything that needed to be done right away and that allowed us to plan for the future and what we would do next.

In the summer of 2010, when I first met with DTS InfoTech, the condition of our computer network can only be described as “in crisis mode.” I asked them to evaluate our network and then submit a written report including Scope of Work and cost Proposal.

Another benefit is how they protect our data. One time, we accidentally deleted an entire folder that held the forms we use to run our business, but they restored the folder and nothing was lost. At times like this I can be a little grumpy, but their staff is still very personable and professional.

As CEO, I feel like the guy Dave in the Staples commercial, I get to wear all the hats including IT support. As an example, we needed a solution where we could share and view calendars for our small 2 person office, critical to know where the other person is and whether they can take a meeting. Instead of going with what I thought I needed which was to install a server and implement Microsoft Exchange ($$$), DTS InfoTech found us a hosted solution with Microsoft Outlook 365 that meets these needs for a very affordable price ($). It only took Dan a couple of hours to get us transitioned on our work desktops and laptops and then he gave us detailed instructions for loading the solution on our other mobile devices. They could have made more profit selling me what I thought I needed, but instead gave me what we really needed that fit better with our budget; just one example of their integrity.
DTS InfoTech works well with a customer who is somewhat tech savvy, but needs their expertise for making sure their network works and is backed up, and understands the price constraints of a small non-profit.
